Our Human Kinetics programme focuses on the study of human movement, physical activity, and the impact on health and performance. The course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the physiological, biomechanical, psychological, and sociocultural aspects of human movement and physical activity. Here is a summary of the course overview for Human Kinetics:

Exercise Physiology:

  • This course explores the physiological responses and adaptations to exercise and physical activity. Students learn about energy systems, cardiovascular and respiratory function, muscular function, and the effects of exercise on various body systems. They study topics such as aerobic and anaerobic exercise, exercise prescription, and the role of exercise in health and disease.

Biomechanics:

  • This course focuses on the mechanics of human movement. Students learn about the principles of motion, forces, and the application of biomechanical principles to analyze human movement. They study topics such as kinematics, kinetics, gait analysis, sports biomechanics, and ergonomics.

Exercise and Sport Psychology:

  • This course explores the psychological aspects of human movement and performance. Students learn about motivation, goal setting, stress management, attention and concentration, and psychological factors influencing performance. They study topics such as exercise adherence, mental skills training, and the psychological benefits of physical activity.

Sport Nutrition:

  • This course examines the role of nutrition in sports performance and overall health. Students learn about macronutrients, micronutrients, hydration, and nutritional strategies for optimizing performance and recovery. They study topics such as sports supplements, weight management, and the nutritional needs of athletes.

Motor Learning and Control:

  • This course focuses on the acquisition, retention, and control of motor skills. Students learn about the principles of motor learning, feedback, practice techniques, and motor control mechanisms. They study topics such as skill acquisition in sports and rehabilitation settings, motor development in children, and motor control disorders.

Exercise and Health Promotion:

  • This course explores the role of physical activity and exercise in promoting health and preventing chronic diseases.
